Growing up in Memphis, I began playing the piano at age 6. After moving to bass guitar a few years later, I finally picked up my brother's acoustic guitar and never looked back. At Vanderbilt University, I studied music and English and began gigging professionally in Nashville while still finishing my degree. I tailor my lessons to each individual student. Students learn at different rates, so, therefore, I want each student to progress at his or her own pace, without comparison to where my other students may be at. I want learning an instrument to be an enjoyable experience, and though the student may have to do and play practices, exercises, and pieces that they may not necessarily enjoy in the moment, it will all be beneficial to him or her in the long run and I will incorporate pieces and selections that interest them as well.
