My first experience with teaching was as a 15 year old counselor at a week long violin summer camp in Maine that my private teacher was running. It was a really fun summer of outdoor violin practice, board games, fishing, swimming, watching movies and cooking together. Since then, I have been teaching private lessons and also enjoyed 2 summers teaching at Interlochen. I teach according to each students learning ability and I also love to challenge my students to help with their daily practice time. Depending on the level of advancement , we will determine the materials that is needed for each lesson. If its a beginner they will start on the basic learnings and fundamentals of music to help them better understand the lesson. Because everyone is at a different point in their abilites, each student's lessons will be customized to fit where they are, whether it be at beginner, intermediate, or advanced level. If a student specifically wants to learn a specific style or styles, then the lessons would focus on that. If they desire to be the most well-rounded in all styles, then the approach would fit that.
