I'm a Music Teacher/Vocal Coach in the Connecticut area where I began singing and playing the piano at the age of nine from various teachers throughout the area including the Neighborhood Music School and the Educational Center for the Arts. In 1992 I obtained a Bachelors in Music Education from Berklee College of Music and a M.F.A from Liberty University in Music and Worship. For younger students, especially children, I will begin their first vocal lesson by standing next to them and showing them how to stand with correct posture. Then I will move on to breathing by having the child place their hand on their diaphragm. I will show them that it is the muscle right above their stomach.
