Vocal: I meet students where they are, working on some repertoire they select while throwing in some of my own selections. My students generally focus on vowel shape, vocal placement, breathing technique, and expanding range through knowledge of the head, chest, and mix voices (including belting). Ive been teaching voice for over 5 years. My students ages range from 10 to 80 and they are In different levels and have different goals/interests. Although Im classically trained and I have many students following a classical path, using the bel canto technique, Im able to provide the student with tools to sing any genre, and for that I use a Cross Training technique, which embraces classical and vernacular styles, such as pop, rock, musical theater, Brazilian music (like samba and bossa nova). If a student picks out a song that doesn't suit him/her, I will help them find the right song for them - building them a diverse repertoire that they can sing any time and any where, without any struggle.
