Singing is a difficult skill to teach. Our instrument is internal and is affected by our emotions, stress level, how much sleep we've had, even what we ate for breakfast! Because of this, I feel it is important to maintain a comfortable environment. I encourage my students to let go of their self-doubt and allow themselves to make mistakes. Although I keep lessons friendly, warm, and encouraging, I expect students to work hard and take their lessons seriously. Read More

I have been teaching private lessons since 2006 and love doing so. I volunteered at my arts high school for 2 years helping with all of the Jazz Band, AP Music Theory, and private instruction in multiple instruments. In 2009 I graduated from Cooperative Arts & Humanities Magnet High School focusing in Music. During my time there I also took AP Music Theory classes, as well as attended 2 summer and winter programs through the Yale School of Music. Read More

To me, the most rewarding thing to see is seeing your students develop the same passion you did when you were their age! As an educator, I believe that no two students are exactly alike -- each student has their own strengths and learn at different paces. It's important to use those strengths and foster them to achieve the best possible goal. By finding out what interests the student, I can cater to their individual needs, wants, and creativity. My teaching experience started 8 years ago, when I began teaching private lessons part time while studying. Since 2006, I have been consistantly teaching students in my home studio as well as in several music schools. I taught novices as well as professional actors. Beside vocal lessons, I have been teaching Piano and Flute for beginners, provoding Ear Training, Music Theory, Improvisation and Songwriting classes and led young musicians to their entry exam for College / University studies. With students of any age, I consider it my number one priority to create a learning environment that is both encouraging of their growth and passion for music, and supportive/safe for them to take the risks and meet the challenges necessary for that growth. I always work to maintain a dialogue with students about their interests and ensuring that our work includes and stimulates those interests, while also finding ways to make our work on fundamental techniques and building blocks as engaging and fun as possible. I normally use the Standard of Excellence method books for most of my students; however, I am open minded to adjusting to each individual student's musical needs, whether it be Jazz, Classical, or whatever style music the student is focusing on. For Drummers, I prefer the Haskell Harr Method, or the Buddy Rich Method Book, as well as the Breeze Easy Method Book. For piano instruction, I prefer the Faber Piano Method Books, as they are tailored to the students' individual needs. Read More

I started teaching about 3 years ago, and have been consistently going to various students' homes for lessons, voice and violin alike. I have worked with all ages, from 5 years old to over 60 years old. Making sure my students constantly practice is definitely one of my key points I focus on. I push them to take on challenges they thought might not have been possible for them to achieve. I love to see their growth, week after week. Read More
