I'm Jasmine, but you can call me Jas or Jassie! I'm a performer local to the San Francisco Bay Area, and I love helping other vocalists achieve their vocal goals. I typically perform an assessment with every individual during the first lesson. Depending on goals, I will recommend curriculum to achieve the desired results. If a classical approach is desired, I use the Alfred's Basic Piano series and the Hal Leonard method for guitar, along with scale and chord theory literature depending on the level of the student. I am honest with a student about their body, I think the best way to sing is to know how all the pieces of your instrument work together to create healthy sound. I encourage my students to eat well and take care of themselves physically and emotionally. I also want my students to have fun by singing music that enspires them to be sincere with their emotions, singing for an audience can be scary but in a private lesson I encourage trying things out even if they seem silly. I was raised up in Northern California in the arts of music and dance since a young age of three. I started lessons in Oakland, CA in dance, music and acrobats with Peggy and Leon Valdez and then tap performance and theater arts with Chorlene and Art Duane in Hayward, CA. From there i introduce songs that interest them and develop sheet music comprehension, rhythm, finger technique and harmony development at a pace comfortable for your child.
