I specialize in teaching students from age 12 to adults. With a background in public school music, I am experienced both with the developing voice, and the demands of growing an instrument the right way when school focus on vocal development is limited. I teach classical vocal technique and work with students on all types of music, in different languages. I can help you develop a solid technique; teach you how to apply it to different styles; and coach you in interpretation. Read More

Whenever I give a student a critique, I always begin by saying something positive they did. Then I explain the critique and how they can improve the next time. I want my students to feel like they have accomplished something, while knowing that there is always room for improvement. Positive reinforcement always keep the students motivated. As far as repertoire goes, I allow my students to pick their own music while incorporating my suggestions for repertoire to learn. Read More

I'm very passionate about teaching and love to work with all ages of students. I had a studio in Mountain Top, PA for 25 years until our family moved to Utah. I recently relocated to the Lehigh Valley. I've performed with many orchestras and have coached many students to be able to compete and perform at Carnegie Hall for many years. I take great pride in being able to teach on an individual basis, meaning I teach according to what the student needs and wants to be taught. Read More

I have a deep joy for music making that I have eagerly shared with my students for the last 15 years. In addition to my varied teaching career, I am also a full-time freelance musician and travel all over the country and the world (Los Angeles, New York, San Francisco, Rome, Dublin) as a soloist and ensemble member. I have been fortunate to make music professionally since I was a teenager which inspired me to earn a Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance, Bachelor of Arts in Music Theory and History, and Master of Music in Vocal Performance. About the time I started a family, I consolidated my teaching, opening a home studio while maintaining my position at the boarding school. Since 2006 I have taught every year in a summer arts program for gifted and talented youth, only taking off the summer of 2013 while on maternity leave. While I do recommend my beginning students start with a classical foundation, I also teach a variety of contemporary commercial music (CCM) styles including pop, Music Theatre, and country, among others. I teach both classical reading and modern music theory to ensure a well rounded approach. I use the book series by Faber to cover classical reading. I believe Faber books do an excellent job at covering all areas of music. I make sure to keep tabs on my students' practicing as I believe in consistency. The student will be given work that is reasonable to practice once a day for at least 10-20 minutes a day. Read More
