Hello! I'm a vocal instructor with 10+ years of experience at the college level, but have taught all voice types and a large range of ages! I enjoy teaching all types of repertoire and have expertise in classical literature and musical theater. I began my studies as a musical theater major and then transitioned into classical music, specifically as a mezzo-soprano opera singer! I received a Master’s degree in Music from the Boyer College of Music in Philadelphia, PA in 2015 for Vocal Performance. Before that, I graduated from the National Music Academy of Ukraine named after P.I. Tchaikovsky in Kiev in 2013, where I received a Bachelor in Music, took parts in a lot of operas ("Le nozze di Figaro", "Eugene Onegin", "Faust") and also earned a certificate of teaching. It is important for both me and my student to have long-term and short-term goals. Long-term goals may have to do with technique--for voice, examples may be releasing tension or singing with proper breath support. Short term goals are more linked to repertoire and can be technical or musical. An example on the piano may be playing through a piece with a particular metronome marking. I have each of my students use a practice log so both the student and I can keep track of short-term goals. Read More

I understand that singing is a very exposing form of music-making and one of the barriers holding us back from our full potential as singers is confidence in our ability to sing. Students need to enjoy and connect with the music they are singing, and I work with my students to find music they enjoy that also meets their developmental goals. I also encourage my students to perform in recitals and competitions, if sharing their voice is part of their personal and/or professional goals. Finally, knowing how busy people are these days, I work with my students to find creative ways of fitting in their practice and I teach them HOW to practice, since consistent, quality practice is critical to achieving their goals.
