My method uses hard work and dedication, but also uses broad ideas to achieve your playing goals. In music what is the goal? The sound is the goal. The sound is everything. My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time 4 years ago, and have been consistently teaching students for 5 to 55+ years old. For young beginning piano students, I typically start with John Thompson's Modern Course for the Piano: The First Grade Book and move up throughout the series from there. For young beginning voice students, I start with lessons on proper breath support, sight-singing, intonation exercises, and warm-ups to shape their voice. For both my piano and voice students, I establish a strong, classical foundation that is built on fundamentals to get their instrument working properly and then branch out to other genres from there. Also, anything that the student is struggling with, I like to try various methods until the student understands. We will work on who you are as a artist and how you will present yourself and your voice. Read More
