While still addressing your personal goals, I work to help you achieve those goals and interests, but also utilize my own experiences in teaching to foster deeper growth. I began teaching voice in 1998, in Vienna, Austria. The following year, I was asked to teach at the Vocal Jazz Department of Gustav Mahler Conservatory where I taught for 5 years. During that time, my private teaching studio also grew, where I coached singers, songwriters and pianists. In 2004, I moved to Los Angeles, taught piano at a private music school, accompanied a Eurythmy class at The Waldorf School in Pasadena, and eventually built my own business as a piano teacher. While studying music in college, I always enjoyed helping my classmates with their particular questions regarding accessing their voice, improving their range, playing piano, or how to start learning to play the flute. While still in school, I shadowed and assisted my piano professor with teaching piano and rock band at a public school. I began teaching privately about three years ago. For beginning students, I introduce musical theatre and classical repertoire and the fundamentals of music theory. As the student progresses, I include advanced exercises used to strengthen the voice and have them learn various styles of singing based on their interests and career path. Students are expected to vocalize every day on their own and complete any homework or songs before assigned dates. In 2020, I graduated with my Master's Degree from the Boston Conservatory in Music, and this education has left me with a deep understanding of many different aspects of music, including piano and vocal performance, composition, history and dramaturgy, and theory.
