During the first lesson I have the student sing (if it is a vocal lesson) their favorite song so I can hear them. After that i use my keyboard and take the student through some excersizes to really home in on that range. I listen for qualities and we discuss the positives and what improvements are needed. For younger students, I use a variety of material but very much like The Royal Conservatory Program. In the age of, "American Idol", "The Voice" and "Glee", everyone wants to be a star overnight. Soprano, Amanda W. is recently graduated from Bowling GreenState University with her Master's in Vocal Performance. For her undergrad, she attended Eastern Michigan University and received her Bachelor's in Vocal Performance. She attended the Utah Vocal Arts academy over the summer of 2017. For the summer of 2016, she was given a tuition scholarship by the American Institute of Musical Studies to study in Graz, Austria. During the years 2015-2016, she was a young artist with the Pittsfield Opera Theatre and sang with the Dixboro United Methodist Chancellor Choir. Read More
