For Beginning piano students, I often use the Piano Adventures series. For younger beginners, I tend to enjoy The Music Tree books. For intermediate students, I like the Celebration Series. For beginning violin and viola students, I use All for Strings first, then followed by I Can Read Music paired with Suzuki Book 1. As students advance in their piano or string studies, we eventually step away from method books and study staple, classic repertoire by composers such as Mozart, Beethoven, and Bach. for each lesson, I write custom lessons plans based on the student's needs and interests. My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time. I encourage the student to see it , believe it and achieve all goals that can be set out to be accomplished. Practice on a daily basis is very necessary when gaining the passion for the chosen instrument. My students are encouraged to enter competitions and recitals, as well as work on composing their own original material, so they can feel good about their accomplishments and stay motivated to learn. I have served as the Teaching Assistant for Eliot Chapo, former Concertmaster of the New York Philharmonic and also Stephanie Sant’Ambrogio, former 1st Assistant Principal 2nd of the Cleveland Orchestra. During those years, I taught college undergraduate Violin and also coached orchestra sectionals. I maintained a private studio of highly motivated violin students, consistently achieving 100% entrance rate into the Reno Philharmonic Youth Orchestra.
