My teaching style is very patient and encouraging and I can tailor my lesson plans to suit each individual student. Although building technique and comfort are extremely important, I find that the most essential aspect of learning an instrument is to study the music that you love, and I'm definitely open to adding a bit of musical theory to every lesson if the student is interested. By 19 i had about 20 students from the age of 5 all the way to age 45, from beginner to advanced levels. I only want my students to have a positive experience when leaving our lesson. I am constantly letting them know what they've done well, along with what goals we need to work on. I focus on the sandwich method, which is one positive trait, something to work on, then another positive trait. Everyone is different, so their learning pace is different as well. I do expect them to put at least some effort in at home via practicing (although I know things come up sometimes), otherwise it would be hard to find progress when they haven't practiced what we were working on. While I have taught violin lessons since 2010, my most recent passion for teaching occurred when I became an Adjunct Professor of Violin at New York University from 2016-2018. I held this position for two years while I was simultaneously completing my Masters degree, and maintained a studio of 10 students each semester. While at NYU, I taught a variety of students, from complete beginners to advanced violin players.
