I provide individualized instruction with a theoretical focus. I want students to understand the music that they play. I view music as a language and believe in the importance of being able to manipulate it to convey a message to the listener. I allow students to choose the songs they learn and couple them with technical exercises to improve dexterity and familiarity with the instrument. I received my BA in violin performance from the University of Colorado at Denver and also attended UNC where I received a viola scholarship. I play both the violin and viola, having the violin as my primary instrument. I have extensive experience in classical (art music), folk, opera, spiritual and new age styles.
