I provide individualized instruction with a theoretical focus. I want students to understand the music that they play. I view music as a language and believe in the importance of being able to manipulate it to convey a message to the listener. I allow students to choose the songs they learn and couple them with technical exercises to improve dexterity and familiarity with the instrument. Throughout the years I have published a number of articles for professional music educator associations. I ask them to bring any materials they have and will often recommend books and supplemental material I have had success with.
