I have extensive practical experience in helping young students develop their foundational piano skills, music styles as well as creative endeavors, which have been a primary focus of my pedagogic activities. For beginning students who are children, I usually would like to encourage them starts to play with little simple songs, likes many of songs they already can singing with. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance. For adults, I try to find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. Read More

For young children, i would start by showing them Twinkle Twinkle, once the student is able to hold the violin and bow upright without my help, and they understand the basics of violin. For children and adults, i would start with the book A Tune A Day, cause it teaches the basics of playing the violin such as simple scales and arpeggios, and will allow the student to make progress with each song they learn.
