My experience in the music therapy field as well as my personal experience being homeschooled when I was young has led me to hold the philosophy that every student succeeds most in an individualized environment. For that reason, I first learn about the student: their interests, their strengths, their struggles, and the way that they see the world. Learning to read, write, and play music is essentially learning another language and having taught languages for several years, I know people move at different paces. Im 23 years old, fluent in English, Armenian and Arabic and Ive been playing the violin since I was 4. All my recent professional experiences have led me to the person and teacher I am today. Ive taken pedagogy classes at UMD, where I learned how to deal with students with different ages and abilities.
