As I mentioned above, having this balance between having fun, enyoing and learning how to be responsible and dedicated, is healthy and efficient! I am a passionate and motivated instructor whose personal goal is to spread music, and the joy it brings, to everyone and everywhere. Born to Taiwanese parents, I was raised in both Taiwan and the North Shore of Massachusetts. I began my violin studies at the age of ten and have since been an active solo, chamber, and orchestral musician. In my younger years, I was a member of the MMEA (Massachusetts Music Education Association) All-State orchestra as well as the Northeastern Senior Districts orchestra for which I was the principal second for two years. Over my years of teaching, I have learned that music is such an incredible outlet for my students to express themselves. Especially for younger students, it gives them a way to show their emotions when words are not enough. I enjoy watching my students grow as musicians and learn to articulate different concepts with confidence. I have been teaching since 1984 and now I teach from my home studio. I am not trying to make my students the best in the world but I want them to love music. My students have accomplished many goals. They have all had the chance to perform in recitals. Some have won scholarships to private schools and colleges, gotten to perform at Disney World to record music for a movie soundtrack and have won top music awards from their high school graduations. I am a current elementary music teacher as well as a private instructor. I am proficient in and can provide basic-intermediate instruction in all instruments listed in my profile.
