Following a long, fun and successful 20+ year career as a pro musician, I became a full-time music teacher. I was the founding music teacher at St. Benedict's Episcopal school in Smyrna, GA where I taught music K-8 for seven years. Then I joined The SAE School in Mableton, GA, where for the past three years I have taught K-12 music, creating a new middle school orchestra and high school Project Based Learning curriculum for music. For all beginner students I like to start with Essential Elements 2000 for violin. I find it is a great way to introduce reading music notation for students who havent learned yet. Once the student has a good grasp on reading music and playing in upright position, I like to introduce introductory solo repertoire with Suzuki Violin School. I find this is a great way to introduce violin techniques like tone development along with performance elements. Read More

Hello, my name is Esperanta, but you can also call me 'Esper'. I am a passionate and motivated violinist of 11 years. I would love to take my talents of the violin to teaching and influencing others who wish to pursue their music skills and talents with myself as their music instructor. I started the violin at the age of 10 when attending Baycreek Middle School. I later continued the violin at Grayson Highschool. Read More

I love seeing my students get excited when they play a song perfectly for a performance, and I understand that there is a long road to get them to that point. I am a firm believer in using encouraging words over disciplinary actions when a student does something incorrectly. I have first hand seen the difference between the two and I have a history of my students always being excited to continue learning when they are encouraged. Read More

Teaching music is a very rewarding experience. Its often nice to see a student to be able to open their eyes and understand the music concept. Every child is different. I like to let each student to progress at their own pace. Patience is the key here when learning to play a new music instrument. I am very flexible and layback. Students enjoying playing their instrument and enloying their lessons is more important than being able to master a piece of music. Read More

Always start where the student is, and take them from there. Always encourage and inspire students to be better than yesterday. Progress, no matter the amount, is progress. Take your own pace. If you have a specific deadline, for example a college audition, you will have to commit to practicing more than usual and we will create a plan of action. Also, I do write letters of recommendation. Celebrating daily practice to turn goals into accomplishments, I love seeing my students learn, harness their determination to do more, learn more, and I love seeing my students happy with their self-worth. I enjoy teaching students of all ages, from all walks of life, background, cultures, and I have a passion for the community. I also work with the Autistic, ADHD, and Disability community. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at his or her own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Read More
