I typically use a combination of Suzuki and Essential Elements for beginner students. I worked extensively with the widow of the author of Essential Elements, and I understand how to implement the strategies for optimal success. For intermediate students, I typically use a combination of Suzuki, scale books, and etude books. to ensure success. My main goal is to continue to build a good foundation for more advanced musical endeavors. Read More

I use multiples methods. One of them is the Susuki method. I consider that is a good method for beginners with a lot of techniques exercises and also includes pieces. For me it is essential that a student learn first all the techniques exercises and then start to create music. After that I started to teach how to respect the essential aspects in a piece: the fingering, the bowing, the dynamics, the tempo and others. Read More

Who studies music raises one’s selfesteem, feeds the spirit, grows and develops multiple intelligences. This is why when a relative of a child goes to his or her concert, recognizes the effort through the applause, and therefore, contributes to the choosing of a destiny. When teaching strings to beginners I tend to teach out of a string methods book but I also offer stylistic direction outside of the book. I find this method helps the student with dependency of string books and helps to harbor curiosity to the vast world of music and methods beyond one book. I offer compositions fit to the level of the student and give them the opportunity to bring them up to performance standard. Read More

Throughout the process, I also integrate tidbits of music theory and history to give the student a more well-rounded experience. As for guitar and piano, I normally take a more custom approach to teaching that tends to not revolve around any specific method book. However, I typically teach beginning pianists and guitarists how to read through and play simple pieces of music so that they understand the fundamentals before moving on to a mix of songs or pieces that I select and songs or pieces that the student wishes to play so as to keep things fresh and exciting.
