I have been teaching private lessons for about 2 years, both for a company and privately. These lessons include beginner piano, voice, and violin. In my music therapy internship I have also had the experience of teaching adaptive piano, guitar, and ukulele lessons. My experience in teaching has been consistent and rewarding. I started giving viola lessons as a junior in high school. In college, I took pedagogy classes where I had the opportunity to teach students through the Boston Youth Symphony Intensive Community Program. In June 2022, I earned my Teacher Training certification through the Suzuki Association of the Americas, which makes me qualified to teach the Suzuki Method. I find having a cd or recording to listen to and play along with is a great help. Other books i use with beginners in addition to the Suzuki books that have recordings too are Solos For Young Violinists, solos for young violists, and Fiddle Sessions by Charlie Hall, and Bela Bartok's 44 violin duets.
