I use multiples methods. One of them is the Susuki method. I consider that is a good method for beginners with a lot of techniques exercises and also includes pieces. For me it is essential that a student learn first all the techniques exercises and then start to create music. After that I started to teach how to respect the essential aspects in a piece: the fingering, the bowing, the dynamics, the tempo and others. Read More

I love teaching the violin!!, my emphasys is in the real true and with love every thing. There are many ways to teach an instrument, one of them is from the perspective of visual memory, or I know, there are teachers who demonstrate first and then the student tries to imitate what he hears and sees There are also others who speak and ask for what they want without demonstrating anything, because obviously they are no longer at the level playing or because they have a condition in their hands or fingers, and they get things by speaking, making themselves understood by the word. Throughout the process, I also integrate tidbits of music theory and history to give the student a more well-rounded experience. As for guitar and piano, I normally take a more custom approach to teaching that tends to not revolve around any specific method book. However, I typically teach beginning pianists and guitarists how to read through and play simple pieces of music so that they understand the fundamentals before moving on to a mix of songs or pieces that I select and songs or pieces that the student wishes to play so as to keep things fresh and exciting. When I finally signed up for professional guitar lessons, I found that there were not just many things to learn, but many things to unlearn. I went back to school to study music at Florida Southern College in Lakeland Florida where I learned Voice and String Pedagogy. After graduating, I taught in the public school system for several years and left to establish my own private studio where I had almost 30 students at one time. Read More

When teaching strings to beginners I tend to teach out of a string methods book but I also offer stylistic direction outside of the book. I find this method helps the student with dependency of string books and helps to harbor curiosity to the vast world of music and methods beyond one book. I offer compositions fit to the level of the student and give them the opportunity to bring them up to performance standard. Read More
