Teaching has been an integral part of my own musical development. When not performing I was the resident trumpet teacher and embouchure specialist at the San Francisco School Of Jazz and have taught privately on an ongoing basis. I hold a Master's Degree in Trumpet Performance from Long Island University C.W Post and a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education K-12 from Manhattanville College. I am in my third year as the Director of local High School Marching Band as well as a sitting member of the New York State Field Band Conference Executive Council as a Representative. Focusing on setting up a firm embouchure and obtaining a clear buzz on the mouthpiece sets up students for success! Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance.
