As a teacher, I like to focus on each students needs as becoming a well rounded musician. I like to work from a few method books including Arbans, Rubank, and Schlossberg for building up your embouchere as a trumpet player. We will focus in on technique, embouchere building, jazz improvisation, and music theory. I always encourage my students that if there is a piece of music they would like to learn, bring it to the lesson and we will work on it. Read More

I use Rubank methoh books for beginner, intermediate and advanced students. I will introduce material from the Arbans method when students have reached a desired level. In addition, I'll find material in the genre that is exciting to the student but also develops their skills and techniques on the instrument. I create individual lessons and goals for each student based what needs to be improved, and what inspires them to practice and get better I am a strong believer in proper techniques, and that they can be obtained simulataneously while studying many genres of music. I believe in teaching discipline, responsibility and dedication through the art of music! I use the NYS Common Core in Music to teach. My students are more likely to excel in all of their studies, have enhanced critical thinking skills and will have a higher level of focus discipline than students not studying music the arts. As an adult, learning how to play an instrument is a way to challenge your brain in an effort to stay sharper and alert for longer. Read More

I have been teaching private students since 2010, and am looking forward to establishing a studio in the NYC area. I believe in helping students establish regular practice habits, with consistent warmup exercises and strong fundamentals. I also find that combining assigned music with music the student choose for themselves helps keep motivation levels high! I want my students to enjoy themselves while learning to play with proper technique, good breathing and musically sensitive interpretation. Read More

I recently moved to New York City after being accepted into the Manhattan School of Music's Professional Studies program for classical trumpet. In October of 2018, I won the 2nd trumpet position with the Hudson Valley Philharmonic Orchestra and have performed as principal trumpet and soloist with the orchestra. Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice Trumpet Trombone Clarinet Euphonium Tuba
For beginning students, I always start by learning the notes on the staff that corresponds with their specific instrument. Knowledge and confidence of this is crucial to the learning process. Next, I pick a method book to work through to learn the fundamentals. For trombone, I use Rubank's "Elementary Method." It is a great progressive studies that has great explanations, exercises, etudes, duets, mini-solos, scales studies, and more for young students. Read More
