I believe that my style is really flexible. I think that everybody has a different way to learn so my style will vary based on the student. I also believe that the role of the teacher should the one of facilitating the student process but ultimately is the student who should dictate the style and the pace of the lesson. I believe also that listening is a really important part of music learning so I have my student listening to a lot of different music and also I play with them all the time so that they can hear and feel what is it to play together. While in New York, I am also participating as a freelancing teacher musician. During the summer months, I have been seen performing at the St. Lukes United Methodist Church in Windermere, FL. Here, I have played in a variety of settings, including frequent performances in traditional worship, a Summer pops orchestra series, and three musicals. When not performing on the trumpet, I enjoy teaching young students and enlightening them with the joys of performing and learning the intricacies of music and the trumpet. Read More

I will do whatever it takes to teach the student whatever they are willing to learn. If they want to learn a specific genre on an instrument that has never been used for that genre, I will be happy to teach them. For example, I can play trap music on a piano, but I could also play death metal on a piano as well. Trap music doesn't have to be restricted to a computer, and death metal doesn't have to be restricted to just guitar, bass, and drums. Read More

I am a musician, composer, and educator seeking to share my musical knowledge with students who are eager to learn. I was born into a musical family, and was exposed to great music from an early age. I began playing the piano when I was eight, picked up the saxophone at ten, and have been playing flute and clarinet now for about six years. Following my musical education, attaining my Bachelor's of Music Performance at Ohio State University and then a Master's of Music at Western Michigan University, I worked as a musician for Royal Caribbean Cruises, performing alto saxophone, flute, and clarinet as part of the Show Band aboard the Radiance of the Seas. I really try to make each student recognize and embrace his/her uniqueness, as this goes a long way towards developing confidence in playing. I believe that music should be a way to express and communicate our thoughts and emotions, and a try to make this an important part of my lessons, no matter what age or skill level. Music making and understanding music can be fun and fulfilling at any point in the journey! Read More
