I use Rubank methoh books for beginner, intermediate and advanced students. I will introduce material from the Arbans method when students have reached a desired level. In addition, I'll find material in the genre that is exciting to the student but also develops their skills and techniques on the instrument. I create individual lessons and goals for each student based what needs to be improved, and what inspires them to practice and get better I am a strong believer in proper techniques, and that they can be obtained simulataneously while studying many genres of music. For beginning brass students, I typically work on developing on their embrasure and proper playing technique. Getting everything secure right at the beginning is the key to having players who are comfortable and will result in greater successful down the line. I believe that good breathing techniques are the key to playing brass instruments successfully. I will work with students on breathing, buzzing and creating a beautiful sound on their instruments. I had the great pleasure of studying under Allen Vizzutti while completing my degree from the Univeristy of Washington.
