I have been teaching Prek- 8th Grade general music, choir, drama and instrumental lessons for the past 5 years. I am a 2009 graduate of Rutgers University with a BA in Music and a 2011 graduate of Teachers College, Columbia University with an MA in Music Education. I have spent the past three years living in Miami where I completed my Masters Degree in music education. During this time I was an active trumpet player in south Florida playing with orchestras, brass bands, jazz groups, and quite regularly latin bands due to the popularity of salsa/latin styles in that region. My Bachelors degree was completed in 2006 at the Univeristy of Delware. I consider myself to be an adaptable teacher. Every student learns in a different way, and this necessitates a need to adapt and find different ways to teach each student. I am a very firm believer in fundamentals; that is to say, every student needs a solid foundation before moving on to more complex ideas. We need to walk first before we can run!
