Instruments: Voice
My public performances began in nursing homes, local festivals and recitals. I also began studying with the famous composer, arranger, Russell Faith at Newtown School of Music. I took his advice to work under the Jarred Talent agency of N.Y. as did a fellow student, Andrea McArdle, who played the lead role in the Broadway musical Annie. I auditioned for TV commercial, musicals, beauty pageants and attended performance workshops in New York. Read More
Instruments: Flute Piccolo
I have not yet started my teaching career but I am super excited to start gaining experience with all of you! I have taken a flute pedagogy class at my undergraduate, Gettysburg College and a woodwind and brass method class during my graduate studies at The Longy School of Music. I have much more experience performing and participating in summer flute masterclasses. I do hope to gain professional music performance experience by being in an orchestra, opera, or ballet, doing chamber music, and organizing small solo concerts. Read More
Instruments: Piano Guitar Voice Ukulele
I have had many experiences teaching piano, voice, guitar, and ukulele both in private lessons and in a therapeutic context. I have also conducted youth choirs and done performances in churches, been in several operas and musicals, and played open mic. Read More

For beginner and novice students I start with discovering where they at playing wise and knowing their instrument. Repertoire wise I believe simple Arban studies and nursery rhymes are all a beginner needs to know to improve their skills. As a student becomes more skilled either Rochut studies or Tyrell's 40 Progressive Studies can really help a student tune their skills. For fundamentals, I believe air control, phrasing, and legato playing to be critical to improve. Read More
Instruments: Voice
My teaching experience dates back to high school, when I began mentoring students that studied with my voice teacher at the time, Dr. Andrea Saposnik. My teachers have instilled in me the importance of healthy singing that is sustainable and can last you a lifetime. It's a marathon, not a sprint! In lessons we will work with exercises to show you the full potential of your instrument. I place a lot of importance on my students knowing HOW to make the sound they want to make, not merely on imitation. Read More
Instruments: Clarinet
I believe that the first thing you have to have is a good fundamental foundation. I always start with breathing correctly and assembling the instrument before playing notes. The core concepts I teach in the beginning are tone, dexterity, and tonguing. As for specific exercises, no two students are the same. I assign or create exercises based on the specific student's needs as a player. Read More
Instruments: Trumpet
I consider myself to be an adaptable teacher. Every student learns in a different way, and this necessitates a need to adapt and find different ways to teach each student. I am a very firm believer in fundamentals; that is to say, every student needs a solid foundation before moving on to more complex ideas. We need to walk first before we can run! While these fundamentals are being taught, relevant music will be introduced in order to incorporate the basic skills being worked on. Read More
