After a few months, I begin adding solo repertoire that is appropriate for age and ability. For middle school age students and adults, I start with Alfred's Basic Piano, Adult, Level 1. Practicing on a regular schedule is the best way for young students to improve, as well as older students to continue to perfect their technique.
