I start each student with a diagnostic lesson where I assess the strong points of their playing, and I also identify the areas that could use work. After that initial lesson I formulate a customized curriculum that is aimed at improving the technical, musical, and theoretical aspects of the student to create a well-rounded musician. I believe that incorporating solo repertoire into lessons is important as well. I set realistic goals that help the student progress at a rate geared towards the student's own pace. Positive feedback helps instill a desire to continue working and practicing regularly. I get the students to make their first sound and teach the technique and theory as they learn their instrument. For beginning voice students I use the same method, but I like to use a song that the student knows. For students with experience I like to have them play or sing something they know and I evaluate that and I will work with them on that song and build their technique. Read More

About me? Well I'm a driven man who works hard and will work harder to see my students succeed. I started playing the trumpet in middle school and fell in love with the instrument. Since then I've advanced my studies through high school and college by playing in all sorts of bands and genres. During my time in some of these bands I've been deemed lead trumpet player of jazz big bands and principle trumpet player in orchestras and wind ensembles. Read More
