I have lead others and taught them before ever having my own classroom as a leader in High School and College. It has greatly pleased me that my students have had many accomplishments in many groups. These vary from various Honors Bands, the Atlanta Youth Symphony Orchestra, and many High Valued Scholarships. From 2020 - present, every summer I have been teaching at the Hilton Head Jazz Camp. This jazz camp is a week-long intensive learning experience. Jazz musicians from all over the U.S. come to teach at the camp and help the students learn about jazz. In this camp I had the responsibility of teaching theory, improvisation, sight reading, and musicality with playing. Other experience I have teaching is every so often I get hired to fill in for a teacher to teach a jazz combo at a youth jazz program in Atlanta. Read More

My methodological procedures are determined solely on the level of the student and their performance ability. Oftentimes I tailor lessons that ive created in my past to create lesson plans for individual students. I oftentimes use action research methods in helping me determine whether or not the teaching method that is being used in the lesson is effective for the student receiving lessons. I have been teaching young trumpeters since I began my undergraduate career four years ago. I have helped middle school and high school students advance in their own playing career. I love learning about how each student learns, and I've always challenged myself to plan accordingly. My students have been honored not only in their own band programs, but also in Georgia All State Band and DCI. I've had the pleasure of working with students who are all in very different places in their musical development, and I strive to meet them where they're at, and challenge them to be the best musician they can be.
