Instruments: Piano Voice Trumpet

I began teaching piano lessons as part of my mother's studio at the age of 15. Teaching music has been a constant career for me since that time, whether part-time or full-time, and it is a joy! I enjoy connecting with my students on a personal level and then helping them move forward in their study of music. It is a satisfying experience for me to guide my students toward a place of music appreciation and to assist them in learning to incorporate it into their lifetime pursuits! Read More

I encourage the individual to find what they love about what they're doing to spark growth and personal development. I use real world scenarios and applications for my students to relate and apply their learning through the playing of their instrument. From my pedagogical teachings ive learned that the best approach is a differentiated one. One that is diverse yet unique to the learner and/ or group of learners. I use a linguistic and analytical yet methodological approach to teaching that I find to be VERY Efficient! Read More

- My teaching style is one of the many things that sets me a part from other teachers. I work to create a fundamental relationship with my students to find out what their goals are, what specific level they are at currently, and where they want to take their talents. Once I’ve discovered these essential things, I work with my student at their own pace of comfort and challenge to allow them to learn the things that interest them as well as continue to develop as a musician. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music. It is so important that each individual student progresses at his or her own ace. I encourage this progress by setting realistic and clear goals for my students at each lesson. When I acknowledge their accomplishments, it helps to fuel the desire to learn of the student and makes them eager to learn more. Once I find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction towards the wants and needs of my students. Read More

Ever since high school, I have enjoyed teaching other students. In college, I would travel to nearby schools to tutor middle and high school instrumental students. My first job out of college was teaching at a charter school where I saw all the students in the school for 9 week periods. We established an after school band where private lessons were the main form of growth. In my next job, I taught students from beginning, in sixth grade, through their senior year of high school.
