My teaching experience began in 2009 when I played in a marching band of concourse in Brazil. After one year as a trumpet player the conductor ask me to teach the beginner students. I taught there about two years and I am proud to say that two of my students followed the music career, and one of them is getting graduate at Sao Paulo University in music education. I always provided different exercises and in different ways to they improve technically and encouraged them to listen and play the songs they like, to make the practice not a obligation but a funny moment. My teaching experience dates back to my college days, as I began teaching private lessons part time and have been teaching since. Today I am a music teacher at David Posnack Jewish Day School and the drum instructor at Piper High School. Since becoming the drum instructor at Piper High School we have received superior ratings four years in a row. With the older students, I try to inspire them by playing duets, and placing emphasis on a variety of repertoire. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a students desire to progress, and makes students eager to learn more.
