For beginners I normally use Talking Trumpet as a primary flow exercises book and Edwards-Hovey Method for Cornet or Trumpet to start the practice in articulations and fingerings in a comfortable pitch. In according with the improvement I add or change practice books. To intermediary level I certainly will apply Arban`s Complete Conservatory Method for Trumpet and some alternatives to flow exercises and technical studies. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Faber collection (Piano basic adventures) or Hal Leonard's Essential Elements. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire appropriate for their first recital performance.
