As an elementary school student I performed in regionally recognized handbell, soprano recorder, and choir ensembles and I am a strong advocate of these types of ensembles at the elementary level. As a middle and high school student I participated in jazz, concert, symphonic, and marching band. I started teaching lessons in college. I began teaching lessons 6 years ago, and have always taught in-home lessons. I believe that teaching in the home will help my students be more comfortable practicing at home. I prefer the one on one setting that teaching lessons gives you over the large ensemble setting. I believe it gives more opportunity to grow as a player.
