For beginner students, I focus heavily on fundamentals consisting of breathing, mouthpiece buzzing, long tones, slurring/tonguing exercises, and scales. I will require each student to learn at least 1 new scale each week once we've established our individualized curriculum. For more intermediate/advanced students, fundamentals are still a must, but we will also begin more challenging repertoire such a solos, etudes, orchestral excerpts, and various other advanced studies depending on the student's level. I'm a professional musician who loves sharing with people my love of music. In 2018, I graduated from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor Degree honored Cum Laude in Music Performance. I played a lot in Europe and United States and I'd love to share my experiences with my student to let them grow as musicians. I had the pleasure to study with great musicians and mentors as Tiger Okoshi, Lin Biviano, Andrea Tofanelli, James Genus, John Lockwood, Neal Smith and many others; plus occasionally lessons with John Patitucci, John Clayton, Victor Wooten and masterclass with Ron Carter, Rufus Reed, Christian McBride and many others. Seeing a student transform from a beginner to a well rounded musician is one of many joys of teaching. I break my lessons into 3 segments;1) required work on fundamental 2) assigned material for overall musical development 3) music that the student has selected of his or her desired interest. With the proper balance, students remain engaged, and excited about practicing and anticpating their next lesson. Read More

I was a student of Laurie Frink, who is widely regarded as the greatest trumpet/brass teacher to ever live. I use alot of her methods to teach students who are intermediate/advanced level. This includes her book, "flexus", along with a number of exercises tailored to the student. Laurie always found a way to teach every student differently, based on their weaknesses and strengths. My goal is to do the same. Read More

You can also improvise on songs that you hear on the radio without knowing the key of the song just by getting a feel of how the song sounds and you will find the notes on your instrument and start jamming to the songs you hear on the radio. Having a good memory will also help you with that. If you don't know the chord progression for the 1st verse of a song, usually, the 2nd verse has the same progression. Read More

Nothing is more rewarding than seeing one of my students develop a passion for music! Therefore, it's important that each student progresses at their own pace. I encourage this by setting realistic goals for my students at each lesson. Acknowledging accomplishments helps fuel a student's desire to progress and makes students eager to learn more. By trying to find out what inspires the student, I can successfully tailor my instruction to their wants and needs. Read More

As a performing professional Musician who is continually learning, I would like to pass-on what I have gained throughout numerous years of Musical experiences. Having graduated with degrees from Manhattan School of Music, and from The Juilliard School, I "incorporate" Music Theory, Sight-reading and Ear Training as essential dimensions of my lessons, with the addition of playing Duets. Having performed under the direction of the world's most renown conductors [including Leanard Bernstein] and with Musicians, along with having studied with the finest instrumentalists are highlights of my career, along with having played Principal Trombone in the Norwalk Symphony for more than 16 years, having substituted on Broadway, and traveled with two International touring companys' Broadway Show productions.
