I am an innovator of fine arts and education who is serious about the enrichment of everyone's life through music. I am a graduate from Alabama State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music Performance. I recieved my Master of Arts & Sciences degree in Instructional Design & Technology from Full Sail University. As a member of various performance ensembles throught the southeast, my involvement has provided guidance in my development of ideas on instruction and performance. I am experienced in overseas travel for performance, in which gives me an edge of diversified interaction with aspiring musicians. As your instructor, I will be eager, determined, and enthused in fulfilling the needs of any student or artist seeking guidance in developing their creativity.
As a musician, it is important to refine performance, technique, and style. I like to find out what the student's goal or difficulty is in each of those categories. Then we plan a recital usually 4-6 months away. I ask the student to choose 4-5 songs that they enjoy and that feel would be a feat to perform. I choose 1 song that I think would challenge them in each of the musician categories. Then we work to prepare the 5-6 songs for the recital. The idea is to have an attainable goal to achieve within a certain amount of time. This requires the student to create succesful practice habits outside of lessons and the recital gives real world experience. For students I have had for more than a year, each recital showcases their improvement.
I have been the band director at Briarfield Academy, Ouachita Parish Middle School, and Prairie View Academy, and have served as Music Director at two churches. I have taught privately since college. >Have performed with: Bob Hope, Sonny and Cher, Barnum and Bailey's, Holiday on Ice, USO Tour of Europe, Tom Jones, The Monroe Symphony, New Life Band, The Atlanta Swing Orchestra, Sentimental Journey Orchestra, and The Atlanta Trombone Ensemble, The Georgia Symphony. I am currently singing and playing as a soloist, and in a duo. /p>
I began teaching about 7 years ago as a part time way of making a little bit of extra money while in school and began teaching at middle and high schools in preparation for marching band and festival band competitions 5 years ago. I have toured with 3 different ensembles in a jazz medium, a classical medium, and as a brass quintet and have played in many side by side performances with young children up to high school, as well as performing with members of the New York Pops under direction of the world renowned conductor and composer Steven Reineke.
My teaching come from the Suzuki philosopy. I want to make good citizens. If a child hears fine music and learns to play it they develop sensitivity, discipline and endurance. I develop the students mid-brain in a musical enviroment. I teach the student how to use their ears more and their eyes less. If the students ear is strong and well honed, their music journey will be so much enjoyable.

We love adult students! We have adults who begin trumpet lessons as complete beginners, some who haven't played their trumpet in over 10 years, and some who are more advanced students looking to take their skills to the next level. The teachers in our network have proven methods to get you the results you desire.
In home trumpet lessons offer a convenient option for learning to play the instrument for most students. The lessons will be structured the same way as in-studio lessons and usually take place once a week. However the goals and abilities of students differ, and as such the teachers in our network can work with the student in determining frequency of lessons.
A standard trumpet includes many pieces: the rim, the cup, the mouthpiece, the shank, the leadpipe, the valve pistons, and the valve casings. We recommend that when you are purchasing your first trumpet that you visit a music store and speak with a trumpet expert. Prices for trumpets can vary widely, so it is best to have a budget in mind. The majority of students choose to rent a trumpet before purchasing. As the mouthpiece of the trumpet is a very personal part of the instrument, if you are renting, you will need to invest in the mouthpiece portion.
Each student will have a custom lesson plan created for them by their instructor. The teachers in our network will generally recommend specific method books students can purchase for use in their lessons. Students will learn to sight as well as any specific skills needed to play the trumpet and support the sound.
We suggest starting trumpet lessons at age 7 or 8. A student should be able to hold the instrument correctly and their fingers should be large enough to properly push up and down on the valves. Playing trumpet also requires significant lung capacity, which can be difficult for a younger child.

Travis is the greatest. He knows his music and how to teach it. He gives you time to learn, but will not allow student time to get lazy. I know he teaches all age groups. Young pre-teens to us old folks 78 years young. I have been taking lessons from him since early December 2014. He is a true professional. You can't go wrong with him.

Angela is a phenomenal teacher. She is full of charisma and is a joy to work with. Most of my experience with her has been focused on working in the Alexander Technique and she seems very knowledgeable in this study. I would highly recommend her to any prospective student. I have seen myself improve dramatically in a few short weeks with her guidance (and much practice of course!)

Very knowledgeable on every aspect of music theory. I listen to recording artists playing various classical pieces, Dan's playing is much like a recording artist's playing. Always on time. My daughter, Valarie is one of the original members of the Enrichment Center Percussion Ensemble under the guidance of Aaron. He patiently worked with Valarie as well as the other five members individually and as a group to produce music that has been shared and enjoyed locally as well as nationally. He has the ability to seek out the strengths of each student while building confidence. Through his teachings, not only had Valarie learned how to produce and enjoy music, but also responsibility and so many life skills for everyday living.

My 4-year-old has had several lessons with Martina now, and he has learned a lot. Obviously, it is challenging to teach such a young child, and he has learned quite a lot in a short time, and is very excited to learn about violin and for his lessons. I think Martina is doing an excellent job, is quite patient, and is teaching him in such a way that he can really remember his new skills from week to week. We look forward to many more lessons with Ms. Martina!

She is amazing! My daughter, Isabella (7 yrs) is totally engaged in the lesson. Lilly's definitely has a gift with teaching young children!!! Omar is a great teacher as he provides expert instruction AND the right amount of encouragement. He is a professional musician on several instruments, yet he is patient with beginners! He also has gone out of his way to purchase an appropriate book for me, strings to re-string the cello, and extra attention to tuning. I appreciate how he explains and demonstrates exactly what a beginning cello student needs to know.

Kevin was such a fun, smart and innovative voice teacher to work with. I had the pleasure of taking lessons with him for over a year and I couldn’t have been more pleased with my time under his training. In just a few weeks I noticed my voice was stronger and I was able to apply his teaching and see the results. He explains his techniques in a way that the student is able to actually hear and feel the changes he is referring to. This allows the student to efficiently practice outside of lessons. Even further, he believed in me and truly cared about my progress. He was always energetic and focused in lessons and was continually surprised how far a song could come in just one hour of his time. Under his teaching I developed a stronger belt in my higher range, learned how to color my voice for different sounds and improved my stage presence. I wholeheartedly trust Kevin’s musical insight and was grateful that he challenged me with a wide variety of songs and styles that I hadn’t considered trying before.

It is important that you select as many days and the widest window of start times for each day as possible. That will help us make a match with one of our teachers.Ok
