Funnily enough, my first private lesson student was actually a peer while I was in high school who wanted some tips and tricks. I also maintained a small lesson studio consisting throughout my time at the University of Iowa. Those lessons were driven heavily by the interests of my students. I had one student trying to prepare for a collegiate music major audition, I had one with interest in becoming a composer, and a more casual student whose ultimate goal was to gain enough skills to lead music in church worship services. In the summer of 2022, he served as an artist fellow in the Atlantic Music Festival, giving varied performances in orchestral, chamber and solo settings. To fuse his dedication to performance with his interest in academic research, Tommy also presented a full lecture recital in the recent conference on cultural assimilation in music hosted by the University of Calgary. I began my musical journey since before grade school, learning piano and other percussive instruments. I immediately took a strong liking towards music and followed it through all my years in school, learning brass instruments and refining my practices along the way. in 2018, I graduated from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Performance. Along with over 4 years of teaching, I've had the experience of touring and performing in various venues around the country and across multiple genres, such as performing with orchestras in Boston Symphony Hall, as well as performing with popular reggae artists in Los Angeles venues.
