Being in the studio and creating songs had me pick up the piano, ukulele, and bass guitar which I then took on as instruments I teach. Through the years, I learned to concurrently teach the musical fundamentals to my students along with how those fundamentals apply to their instrument in a broad context! I'm an energetic, passionate and motivated instructor strongly committed to the belief that everyone is musical. I teach students of all ages and levels, focusing on repertoire, technique, theory, sight-reading and improvisation.  My special "niche" is teaching young children.    My students (ages 3-6)  embark on a musical adventure with Beethoven Bear and Mozart Mouse, filled with singing, listening, music appreciation, movement and rhythm activities.  Students also participate in drum circles, play boom whackers, experience parachute play and ukulele playing. I believe that making progress in an enjoyable way is what keeps people most motivated, and I do my best to make that happen. While students will find that their progress is influenced by their practice habits, it's also my goal to make clear what effective practice looks like, what kinds of questions they might ask to figure things out, and how to be patient with themselves.
