Understanding the student's interest would be my priority goal. Helping students not just playing the instrument, but also loving it, so they will cherish the time with their instruments. Having fun while learning music is always my target in teaching music. Students and parents are welcome to provide the music they would love to learn. That should keep their attention in having fun. At the same time, other-focused material would be assigned, so the students will maintain a great foundation in playing music. Read More

We can learn more than just music through any topic. I can teach you music and while you are learning I can guide you and help you realize what a great distresser music can be, or how mentally blocked one can get when under the stress or pressure of wanting to play something and not being able to, just yet. Every student has a different learning style and learns at their own pace. I myself am a tactile kinesthetic learner and tend to teach this way. For example, I enjoy using colored pencils to highlight articulation and dynamics. If a student is younger, I use stickers to help students keep track of where they are in the piece. I tailor my instruction to what each of my students needs and want to learn. Read More
