As a student of music growing up he was taught how to play the saxophone during his 7th grade year. I have been teaching music since I was a teenager. I started with my neighborhood friends, and later at a school of music, where I also hosted showcase concerts for my students. I then went into private teaching in 2009, and have been teaching student of all ages at their homes. My teaching experience comes from a variety of different sources for the last 8 years. During college, I taught at my alumni as a summer marching band assistant. During that time, I also taught trombone and piano lessons to students around the Waco area. I have also taught as a elementary music teacher for two years, and I bring those skills with me to my lessons studio. I like to get an idea from the student and the parent what their expectations are for music lessons. From there, the student and I come up with musical goals to accomplish for that year. We create a practice schedule based on the student's school and extracurricular activities and try to follow that schedule as much as possible. I also like to incorporate other styles of music such as popular Broadway pieces and Contemporary pieces into the student's repertoire so that they can have greater diversity in their piano playing or singing.
