It is important to me that I provide a warm, comfortable environment for all my students. I strive to meet the student where they are, set goals, and make plans to achieve them. Voice in particular is a difficult thing to learn, since the mechanisms are internal and difficult to see as well as hard to control directly. For beginning students who are children, I typically start with Faber Piano Adventures. Once the student has progressed to have a grasp of the fundamentals, I will begin to introduce solo repertoire. For adults, I start with the Faber Adult Series as well as find out what the student is interested in, and guide my instruction accordingly to keep the lessons engaging and fun, no matter their ability level. My teaching philosophy is to focus on listening first, which helps students learn to read music more effectively. Read More

Currently, I have upwards of 40 students of varying ages and levels, all very motivated and engaged in music. Teaching such a diverse circle of students and adapting to their learning styles has proven to be my greatest lesson in music. Read More
