Instruments: Piano Violin Viola
I have been teaching violin and viola for the last six years. My main goal is to make sure that student is having a great time learning how to play an instrument while making sure the student understands good practice habits. I want to make sure that the student has fun in their lessons and I make it my main priority. If the student wants to learn jazz, I am well versed in jazz and can teach jazz. Read More

I started teaching guitar lessons in 1999 (20 years this year!) Since those days I've gotten two degrees and taught at colleges, and private institutions, as well as high school and middle schools. I've found that combining textbook music instruction along with learning to play some of the music the student is listening to keeps them growing and engaged. Most importantly it makes learning music fun! I love jazz and I encourage efforts of composition and improvisation to help the student take ownership of the notes they're learning. Read More
Instruments: Piano Cello Music Keyboard
I began teaching music in high school when I worked as an teacher's assistant during group piano classes. I started teaching private cello and piano lessons shortly thereafter and continued to do so through college. After graduation, teaching music truly became my passion. I've worked extensively with private students of all ages. I taught private lessons, group classes, and sectionals to students through several different school orchestra programs. I've maintained a private studio with students of all ages and skill levels. Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice
For beginning piano students I typically start with Faber's piano adventure series--I typically have students work through the lesson, performance, and theory books while providing them with additional repertoire on the side (pop, disney, classical pieces etc.) For voice students, I typically spend about a third of the lesson working on technique--proper breathing, posture, extending range, working on tone quality etc. Then the rest of the lesson is spent working on solo song repertoire. Instruments: Piano Flute Piccolo
I believe that it is important to tailor lessons to my individual students, helping to foster a love of music and learning. I think it is important for my students to have goals that they are striving to achieve. They can be big goals, like making it into a college of choice, but I also think small ones are important, like mastering the Bb major scale. We work towards goals and celebrate accomplishments together to help drive each student's passion. Read More
Instruments: Piano Voice
I take pride in helping my students achieve tangible progress and witnessing their confidence and skill flourish over time. In addition to teaching, my experience as a performer enriches my ability to mentor aspiring singers. I have graced the stage in numerous operatic productions and concerts, honing my skills and deepening my understanding of the performer's craft. This firsthand experience allows me to offer valuable insights into stage presence, character development, and effective communication through voice. Read More

I have a few students who are homeschooled and can meet with me early in the day, and even at the later evening. I am very flexible. You don't have to have a lesson weekly because I know how busy life can be. Teaching online through Zoom, is a convenient way for me to teach and for my students to learn and it has been a reward for me and my students. Read More
