My first love is jazz, and as such I have a strong love of improvisation and aural skills, which I believe are relevant in all forms of music (even Bach improvised!). Once some fundamental skills and theoretical knowledge is ascertained, I like to build on more advanced musical skills like learning songs by ear, being able to identify certain common chord progressions, helpful tips for memorizing pieces, and learning to personalize music through expressive techniques and improvisational application where appropriate. In November 2013, Roy moved to the New York City vicinity to discipline himself, and study Jazz as a music based on American culture. In March 2015, Roy was accepted to the Manhattan School of Music. And also, he was transferred to CUNY Queens College, Aaron Copland School of Music. Then he graduated with the degree of Master of Music in Jazz Study in 2018. Roy participated “George Gershwin International Music Competition2017 in New York” as a Classical-Jazz saxophonist, and won third prize in Woodwinds and Brass category in the competition. Read More

I started teaching music, right from the start while I was studying at the conservatory. I Started with private lessons to students who were the novice. Later I realized that teaching was also helpful to me, as it helped me in my daily practice. I like teaching kids, especially when they discover jazz improvisation.
