One of the single most important thing a student can do is to listen. Method books and etudes are great, but it's important for students of all ages to have a frame of reference for what they want to achieve. Once we both know what a student wants to achieve, I'll gather a series of repertoire for them. For beginners, I start with just the mouthpiece, so they understand how to have and maintain a good embouchure before they start with the rest of the saxophone. Read More

My methods of choice for instruction are many due to the amount of instruments that I teach and the many levels of mastery within each concentration. For most woodwinds I begin with the Rubank family of methods and duet books. I favor many of the Berklee press books for music theory, voice, keyboards, genre studies, guitar, bass, composition, ear training, harmony and arranging. The Schirmer library of classical piano pieces is often used. Read More

I play saxophone and keyboards in a nationally touring funk band. We regularly headline music festivals and currently focus our shows in and around New England. I've also recorded on several acclaimed artists' albums. I have a background in jazz and studied Piano and Saxophone Performance and Jazz Composition at Berklee College of Music. My teachers were amazing as I progressed through the schools. And they were so fun and inspiring that I want to make playing piano or saxophone as exciting and rewarding for you as it was for me! For beginners, I have a multitude of etudes, simple songs, and exercises to encourage sight-reading, finger comfortability, and basic cognitive understanding of music fundamentals such as scales. For guitar, I usually begin with fun simple songs such as "What do we do with the Drunken Sailor" and a simple blues. For woodwind instruments, I'll typically begin with songs such as Hot Cross Buns, Mary Had a Little Lamb, or some holiday songs during the holiday season. Read More

I'm a passionate and motivated instructor who loves working with students and sharing my love of music. In 2015 and 2017, I graduated from Peter King College of Music and Muson School of Music with Associate degrees in Saxophone and Piano Performance. I am current in my final semester for grad studies in Jazz and Contemporary Music at Longy School of Music, Cambridge MA. Performing across the globe and styles has been one of the greater experiences of my life as a musician, and I've had the opportunity to play with different artists both in Nigeria and Boston MA. Fundamentals come from slow practice, and unfortunately, there is no true fun way of doing it. However, I pair technical work with listening assignments, so that the students actually see the point of fundamental training. Hanon is the one book that has stayed with me for two decades and I adhere to its various training regimens very closely. The book itself may be insufficient, but the auxiliary exercises I designed will improve the practice efficiency. Read More
