For beginner Piano / Keyboard Students, I use the Bastien Books. They are simple to understand and get the Student through the first few stages of Right Hand Left Hand coordination and positions. I have several different books for Saxophone Students that feature technique, solo repertoire and duets. If I have a student who is struggling with fundamentals, then we will focus on fundamentals. If I have a student who is struggling with articulations, then we will focus on articulations in lessons. I do tailor my music lessons for the individual student. There really is no making a general statement for a specific person. Once I have an idea of what the student wants to accomplish it becomes easy to customize a plan for each student's development.
