I am a musician in the New York City area that enjoys advancing the art of music by performing and teaching it. I graduated from Hunter College in 2013 with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Music Perfomance. I have had a lot of experience playing with big bands, orchestras, and small jazz combos in beautiful performance halls as well as smaller venues geared towards small bands. I have taught toddlers as well as adults since then off and on but am looking to start to teach more consistently and regularly. I also have experience with children and young adults with special needs. Coming from both Jazz and Classical studies, I focus on the fundamentals. Especially with young students still forming language skills, I work on ear training. I'm concerned with teaching a strong sense of pitch, harmony, and rhythm. I believe it's very important that a student learns to read music and become a literate musician. I also stress creativity and learning to play by ear.
