After graduating from college, I began teaching privately in my home state of Texas at the middle and high school levels in New Braunfels and Austin. Soon, I began teaching adults as well and when I moved to Washington D.C. in fall of 2006, I became the Music Instructor at The Art and Drama Therapy Institute, a center for adults with developmental disabilities. This experience had a great impact on me in terms of understanding the big picture in that the goals and methods relating to the technical aspects of music lessons, but the grand value that music offers in terms of the emotional and spiritual rewards as well. Instruments: Saxophone
I have been privately teaching since 2012, primarily teaching high school students in between classes in college. In 2017 I was offered a Graduate Teaching Assistantship from Florida State University, where I was assigned eight students and two saxophone quartets, as well as teaching the saxophone portion of the Woodwind Fundamentals class that was offered. These opportunities have given me a chance to refine my teaching style to cater to what each student needs, from sight-reading practicing, to playing duets together. Read More
Instruments: Piano Saxophone Clarinet
My teaching style is seasoned but spontaneous. By that I mean that at this point I have a good idea of what works and what doesn't. I have a proven repertoire of exercises and advice that have helped students and will continue to do so. But every student has a unique set of needs, so I am excited to throw away the 'play book' at the first sign that it's not working. Read More

My teaching experience started when I was still in college a few years ago. I start with new students by encouraging them to practice and study music consistently, as this is the best way to internalize and truly learn the art. However, I also help students individually by focusing on the goals they are trying to accomplish in their playing. At the same time, I like for students to have fun because it is the failure of the teacher if the student is not having a good time or willing to go through the trials of becoming better at their craft.
