During his time at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Jones served as a coach for flute ensembles, taught supplementary flute lessons for undergraduate students, worked as the orchestra manager and librarian and also worked with professors as a teaching assistant. He has performed with the University of Louisiana at Lafayette Wind Ensemble and Orchestra, Alcorn State University’s Concert Band, Marching Band, Choir and Jazz Ensemble, The National Historic Black Colleges and University’s ALL STAR Wind Symphony, Jamaica Symphony orchestra, The Young Jamaica Ensemble, and has made several guest appearances at the Natchez Music and Arts league in Mississippi performing solo and collaborative works. For brand new students, I usually like to do an assessment of where they are starting in order to recommend the best method books to use that way there is no fear of being overwhelmed in the process of developing. Fundamental techniques are also used in order to gauge what direction to go as the instruction proceeds. I began assisting teachers during high school for extra credit. It later became my job during Full Sail. I worked extensively with grades K-5 on reading, writing and math skills enrichment. When I graduated I started to see my joy was working with children and helping each individual get to their own "next level" and that is when I began teaching music privately. I encourage my students to enter competitions and recitals of which I help with the prep for and can conduct them there if need be.  Read More
