I first start with an assements of where the students skills are and their mindset. I try to findout what they want to due and what they like to due. Sometimes students dont truly know. I teach my  students with Alfred's, Bastian and other diffirent  methods. My beginning students lerning two books together. With lesson book kids learning music terms and how to play piano. With Theory book we are drawning notes, do excircise and play games. My intermediate level students can pick a song they would like to lern. I design my own curriculum for all of my voice students, which usually comprises of basic piano and theory skills and vocal technique.  Dependent upon the students interest level and personal goals, I determine the extent of the materials and the pace of the lessons.  Since I only teach beginner piano for children and teens, I usually stick to the basic beginner books (i.e. Hal Leonard or John Thompson) and slowly Incorporate solo repertoire.    Read More

Alben began studying classical piano at the age of 7 and guitar at the age of 15 at the Rhode Island Philharmonic School in Providence, RI. At the age of 14, he began studying under Dr. Irina Tchantceva, participating in various festivals and competitions around the New England area. In university, he studied under Dr. Sandra Hebert and Dr. Ralf Gawlick for performance and composition, respectively and graduated from Boston College with his B.A in Music with a concentration in Performance and Composition, as well as a degree in Political Science in May, 2019. I began taking piano lessons under the tutelage of two professors at the age of five. I continued these lessons until I turned 24. At 16 I began to work professionally as a musician. I have always loved music and play most every day. I feel that God gives us all gifts and music is one of them. I tailor a student's curriculum to their musical goals and needs, while making sure that I am instilling the fundamentals needed for pursuing music at the college scholarship level. Often this means scales, chords, arpeggios, music literacy, performance practice and listening skills. To accomplish this, I use standard materials that are often available online and are used by college and University music programs around the world. I have a variety of method books in different styles and from different time periods, and will select, assign, and provide a Method book to a student based on the student's goals. Read More
