I am a nurturer. I teach with caring, passion and support of all my students. It's not just enough show students how to play a note or read a rhythm, but how to use that knowledge in everyday life. I like to build a positive working relationship with my students. This way they look forward to their lesson, not only because they are comfortable around me, but because they are growing and learning about music and it's relationship to life. Read More

My teaching experience is extremely broad and deep as I have had the pleasure of being a music director for many performing ensembles throughout Georgia and have won numerous top honors and awards at competitions and festival showcases throughout the country. Simultaneously as a live performing musician I was directing students in a broad genre of music since the inception of my career and these groups would perform as individual solo artist or as a full ensemble and have a great experience earning top honors and awards at all presentations. Music is a very tough discipline. It will not happen in one lesson, but what will happen is that students will instantly witness progress and this feeling becomes addictive. I challenge my students to practice hard because with that type of discipline the student will not only grow musically, but mentally as a human. I would not be the compassionate person I am today if it had not been for me falling in love with music. Read More

I started teaching Privately in 2007 and have continued off and on since. I have worked with students in Woodwind and Brass either privately or in a school setting. Also, I had the opportunity to work with multiple schools ensembles and marching bands. I encourage all of my students to maintain a constant practice schedule in order to work toward our goals. Music is meant to be enjoyed, so I like to find what it is my student enjoys and improve on those aspects. Read More

There are many acceptable method books for beginning students, however, I have found that if a student gets relatively comfortable on their instrument before trying to decipher a grand staff, they seem to enjoy the learning experience more. The hardest part of teaching music, in my opinion, is the educational content that isn't in a method book. Finding someone who can play your instrument better than you can often be more inspirational than finding a new piece that is slightly out of your comfort zone or using a method book that, at the end of the day, is supposed to help a student reach the ability level of the person the student aspires to be. I have lead others and taught them before ever having my own classroom as a leader in High School and College. It has greatly pleased me that my students have had many accomplishments in many groups. These vary from various Honors Bands, the Atlanta Youth Symphony Orchestra, and many High Valued Scholarships. I ecourage regular practice for all my students to review and refine their musicianship overall. I am always looking for new and exciting opportunities to teach those who are interested. Read More
